Ssese Islands and Safari Adventure

Ssese Islands are an archipelago of 84 islands located in the middle of Lake Victoria, the second largest inland lake in the world. Lonely Planet voted Ssese Islands among the top 10 ‘Romantic Secret Islands in the world for 2011’.

Ssese Islands

The largest island in the archipelago is called Bugala Island. The Ssese Islands tick all the right boxes for an island paradise – golden sandy beaches, whispering palm trees, exotic flora and fauna.

Most of the 84 islands in the Ssese group are undeveloped, but a handful of resorts and beach camps grace the sands of Bugala, Bukasa and Banda.

The Islands are a perfect romantic getaway for honeymoon or anniversaries and the answer to the Mediterranean, Mauritius or Seychelles.

These Islands are not much talked about, as they are still pure, natural and exclusive to few who want total privacy. This is the place for total relaxation, and a lot of sun bathing.

Accommodation is moderate, but new exotic hotels are being built. Besides basking in the sun, the main activities are combing the jungle for exotic creatures and canoeing across the lake.

Transport to the islands is a by a ferry operating from Entebbe daily and it is provided in your package.
